Eyes on Beirut
4th of August is a date which every Lebanese will remember. On this day at 6:07 pm, an explosion occurred damaging nearly half of Beirut. This explosion has killed more than 150 persons, injured more than 6,000 people, and has displaced more than 300,000 homes. People have lost their loved ones, their homes, their businesses, and even their cars. The explosion was catastrophic and we as their neighbouring church could not sit and watch. We established a ministry called “Eyes on Beirut” which seeks to help renovate some houses, support more than 100 families, and share the love of Jesus Christ with them. We have organized 8 teams who have gone out to the streets to visit the families affected by the explosion. We want to be that loving and caring neighbour which our Lord tells us to be. The greatest commandment which the Lord Jesus told us was to love God with everything we got and the second is as the first to love our neighbour as our self. We are offering goods in kind, some financial help, and most importantly spiritual help. We are sharing the good news of God as well as showing our faith through our works because what good is to say to them: Go in peace, be warmed and be filled, and yet we do not give them what is necessary for their body (James 2:16). We urge you to pray for this ministry so that God would bring many sons to glory and that we may be good and faithful servants.
